CQUEnglish provides excellent English language courses at various levels in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with quality facilities. No matter what your English needs, we can help attain your goals. We can also organise study tours, which are short-term programs tailored to specific needs.
GENERAL ENGLISH
CQUEnglish offers General English (GE) at various levels to suit your needs. A placement test assesses your current English language ability and places you in the level that suits you. The General English course will help you develop your everyday communication skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
The General English course is dynamic and interactive. Participating in group projects will help you develop teamwork skills while providing a supportive and fun environment to improve your English. Activities outside the classroom, like regular excursions to popular tourist sites and participating in cultural and sporting activities, will give you added opportunities to practise your English skills in real life natural settings.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- GE1 (Elementary): IELTS 3.5 or equivalent
- GE2 (Pre-intermediate): IELTS 4.0 or equivalent or successful completion of GE1
- GE3 (Intermediate): IELTS 4.5 or equivalent or successful completion of GE2
- GE4* (Upper-intermediate): IELTS 5.0 or equivalent or successful completion of GE3
*GE4 is for students who want to continue developing their language skills in General English rather than Academic English. It does not provide a pathway into CQUniversity main courses.
