Course Structure and Content

Holmes Institute is proud to welcome students to Holmes Master of Professional Accounting (MPA).

This masters degree has been custom designed with inputs by the faculty and professionals in the field. This combination of academic and professional knowledge has resulted in a contemporary course relevant to today’s international business environment.

By combining the core professional accounting subjects with a strong foundation in general business, the course seeks to ensure students graduate with the broad range of skills and competencies required for a successful career in accounting and business. Graduates will not only be professionally competent in the theoretical and technical aspects of accounting, but will also have the well developed analytical and communication skills necessary to equip them for leadership positions in their professional and business lives.

The objective of MPA is to firmly establish in graduates the processes, skills, and professional ethics that they will need to establish themselves as accounting professionals. In particular, graduates will be able to create value for employers/clients by competently synthesising suitable applications, strategies, options, actions, controls, and outcomes, to resolve current concerns and to anticipate and avoid future complications arising from the concerns and/or their resolution. As such, the MPA is designed to:

  • Rapidly progress students through a working understanding of the body of knowledge, tools, ethics, and regulation of accounting and its related disciplines, and on to
  • Develop skills in applying that material in analysing and evaluating the complex rapidly evolving issues affecting modern businesses, NGOs, and government, and on to
